The Community Hospital of Long Beach (CHLB) Foundation’s Fillmore Condit Founders’ Club is the most prestigious support group of Community Hospital of Long Beach. Founded in 1976 by Jess Grundy, a long-time supporter of the hospital, and named after former-Long Beach Mayor Fillmore Condit whose charitable gift in 1924 helped make Community Hospital a reality, the Fillmore Condit Founders’ Club recognizes those who have made or pledged significant charitable gift support of $10,000 or above to the CHLB Foundation. The following are the levels of membership: New members and existing members reaching a new level in the given year are honored at our annual Condit Spirit Awards Gala Event, as well as on our donor recognition wall in the hospital’s main lobby. Contributions made by Fillmore Condit Founders’ Club members have helped the Foundation continue its tradition of supporting Community Hospital’s mission of providing the finest care available to our patients. Most recently members’ contributions have helped to fund the creation of two new isolations rooms that will help the hospital with infectious disease control, as well as provided nursing scholarships to students at our local colleges.
